Waitressing has taught me the value of communication and grown my capabilities of interacting with others. It has also engrossed me into an environment of fast moving and preparation. This job not only has kept me on my toes and helped me learn the value of time management, but has also allowed me to experience interactions with all sorts of people. It is a young job I have valued very much for its life skills.

Juniper Village at Brookline is a rehabilitation and skilled care center for senior living. This job experience was a requirement through my major at Penn State University. This was our first hands-on experience as nursing aids and accounted for hours towards our 4 year BSN degrees. At Juniper I was a real life nurse to a new patient each week. I have been trained and certified to change bed sheets, assistive showers, feedings, blood glucose readings, immunizations, wound dressing changes, NG tube feedings, and vital signs. This experience has opened up my eyes to really understanding the health care word and basic care of a human being. Everything we did was done with a Certified Registered Nurse watching over our shoulder as well.
