About Sydney Berkman

Dr. Sydney Berkman has been working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings since 2006. He received his M.S.Ed. in Special Education with a focus on severe disabilities at Simmons University. He received his M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis at Western New England University under the advisement of Dr. Eileen Roscoe, where he conducted research on training graduate students to create behavior-analytic graphs using the graphing software, GraphPad Prism. He received his Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis at Western New England University under the advisement of Dr. Rebecca MacDonald, where he conducted research on the assessment and development of observational learning skills in small groups for learners with developmental disabilities. Dr. Berkman has extensive experience with individualized curriculum development and remediation and with assessing and treating challenging behaviors with children in a wide range of settings including residential schools and public schools. Dr. Berkman is passionate about using treatments that allow clients choice and agency and about working with young professionals as they explore their career options and build new skills. He is a native English speaker with Professional Working Proficiency in Spanish.
