As a former Foster Youth, former Houseless Person, and current mother, I grew a passion to give back and service to those who are currently in my previous hardships. My desire to help people came from receiving help, so out of high school I became a Medical Assistant with the goal to work in local free clinics in my community. I worked as a Medical Assistant in family practice for 5 years, also as an MA I distributed vaccinations to the general public during the COVID-19 pandemic, working under OSHA guidelines and HIPAA laws.During this time, I became knowledgeable of the importance of collecting and protecting vital and confidential information. I've attended multiple empathy trainings throughout my career, which makes me fit to work with a community of diverse people. During this time, I gained hands-on experience with injections, blood draws and vitals also gained experience in Electronic Medical Records, billing, and coding to HMO and PPO. After 5 years of being an MA, I returned to school to obtain a degree in nursing which later changed to Business Management due to being laid off during the pandemic. I started a small side business in Credit Repair and Financial Literacy, with the intent to guide and educate my disadvantaged community on budgeting, savings, and the importance of building a strong credit profile to obtain assets. That small side business led me to become a Tax Preparer and Notary Public/Notary Signing Agent who specializes in loan & official documents.Currently continuing my education to obtain a Business Management degree, while also pursuing full-time employment for a company with the premise of giving knowledge, services, and resources to disadvantaged communities and misrepresented individuals.
