Founder and Owner of sys-tek, P.A. Engineers, which I started in 1995. sys-tek provided engineering, design-build construction, and commissioning services at all levels, including principal, project manager, design engineer, design-build mechanical and electrical construction manager, and commissioning and startup services. Hands-on experience providing consulting, design, and startup services for Design-Build projects working for Owners and Contractors. Project experience includes Mission Critical, Life Sciences, Healthcare. Higher Education, and Public Facilities. Recent projects include the design of the Moffit Cancer Research Center located on the USF campus in Tampa, Florida. This Design-Build project required design innovation to allow for the complete replacement of HVAC systems totaling over 600,000 CFM of air volume between 14 air handling systems. The project design goal is zero downtime. Another recent project included a technical evaluation and upgrades for a 125,000 LB/HR steam plant with over 10,000 TONs of cooling. Upgrades included adding a redundant deaerator and optimizing the chiller plant for complete automatic control that will provide energy savings of well over $150,000 per yearMechanical and Electrical intensive projects include Engineering and Commissioning for a new 12 M.W. Generator plant and over 90,000 Square Foot Data Center consuming multiple floors of the 17 Story building. The project scope includes six (6) 750 kVA UPS Modules, 15 D.C. power plants, and 4new chillers totaling 3,500 Tons of cooling. The cooling system also used an in-row cooling system to support the computer rack load on the raised floor to 8,000 watts per rack. Other projects include a 7,500 TON Chiller Plant for Brooke Army Medical Center and a 6,500 TON chiller plant for Sanofi Aventis. sys-tek provided on-site construction services as well as design, commissioning, and startup where project requirements had zero downtimeExperience includes planning, designing, and constructing central plant utilities, including steam, chilled water, hot water, and compressed air—several projects completed using Design-Building project delivery where sys-tek provided consulting and on-site services.Certifications include Professional Engineer (12 states), Building Commissioning Association and ASHRAE, American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) – Health Care Construction, OASH 30 certification, Antiterrorism Training and Fall protection.
