- My work focused on the simulation of longitudinal vehicle dynamics to analyze the performance of different vehicle configurations and improve system design. I carried out cycle simulations to analyze dynamic performance of the vehicle.- I worked on the model environment in MATLAB/Simulink and improve the model functions with respect to data visualization, load cycle evaluation (Rainflow analysis) and graphical user interface.- Preparation of vehicle models for HiL use- Implementation of SiL control in vehicle simulation library

As an intern at the Control Systems Engineering Research Group I did the followings:- Researched existing modeling methods for air-source heat pumps.- Implemented a dynamic model of a hybrid heat pump system and a dynamic thermal model of a Dutch terraced house.- Designed a model predictive control strategy to optimize the hybrid heating system operation.

As an intern at the Tribology department I had the followings tasks and responsibilities:- Carried out measurements on a pin-on-disc test rig with different cylinder lubrication oils, in order to investigate the potential reduction in performance losses between the piston ring and cylinder wall in two-stroke marine diesel engines.- Defined a test protocol, that explains the essential steps during the measurements in order to achieve maximum accuracy.- Developed a MATLAB code for the evaluation of the test results. The code compensates for the drift in the sensor signal and uses a moving average filter to minimize signal noise.

As leader of the transmission group my work was the following:- Designed a weight reduced selector barrel for Formula Student applications. 42CrMo4V was used, as this material resulted in a design, that granted optimal trade-off between weight and strength.- My responsibility was to take care of the design process of an automated shifting system. The project covered problems from the fields of vibrations, mechanics, mechanics of materials, control systems and electronics. I coordinated the work between different groups (transmission, simulation, electronics) of the team.- As the leader of the transmission group I was responsible for managing the work of the group, maintaining relations with sponsors and partners of the team and represented the team on official events.
