The two of us were solely responsible for the support and ongoing development of AccuTech's professional farm management product, AccuFarm-MGR. We shared design responsibilities, Tamara did the programming, and I did the testing and support. When I first joined AccuTech, they were in the process of converting clients from their older DataFlex version of the product to a newly developed Windows version. Unfortunately, the programming of the Windows version was performed by three young, inexperienced programmers. The new version was released with very little testing by anyone, and this had become increasingly obvious to our clients and AccuTech's management. The three young programmers were eventually let go, and the fixing of the application fell to Tamara and me. Within months, Tamara had fixed all but the most minor problems, and we had a much happier Users Group. Tamara had a number of development responsibilities. Her primary responsibility was the development of reports and statements for AccuTech's main product, AccuTrust. This trust accounting product is used by several hundred trust companies and bank trust departments, nationwide. Obviously, accuracy and clarity were essential. Tamara was an expert in the use of Crystal Reports. She knew its limitations and recognized when it would be better to program the report herself. Tamara also designed and programmed DataMiner, an application that allows AccuTrust users to write their own reports. Her assignment was to develop a report-writer that would be easier for clients to use than Crystal Reports. In addition to her work responsibilities, Tamara was able to complete her masters degree in computer science. She was also a single parent raising two teenage boys, who are now adults. During my over thirty years of working in Information Technology, I have worked with a great many people. I consider the working relationship I had with Tamara to be one of the most enjoyable and productive of those relationships.
