CurrentThe National Conference of State Legislatures is the nation’s premier bipartisan organization serving the legislators and staffs of the nation's 50 states, its commonwealths and territories. NCSL provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues. The leadership of NCSL is composed of legislators and staff from across the country. NCSL is an effective and respected advocate for the interests of state governments before Congress and federal agencies.Expert in conducting complex, integrative research projects with an understanding of their political context. Can provide intricate policy interpretations to policymakers, stakeholders and the public while anticipating emerging trends within that policy and intersecting policy areas. Specific expertise in policy areas related to the adverse childhood experiences, social drivers of health, maternal and child health, child maltreatment, health disparities, substance use, tobacco and nicotine use, and mental and behavioral health for adults and youth. Project and program management of a multi-year grant from Health Resources and Services Administration, CareQuest and Inseparable. Previous grant management from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention including the Divisions of State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Supports, Injury Prevention and Adolescent and School Health, The Pew Charitable Trusts, Bainum Family Foundation and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Contributions include drafting grants and budgets, oversight of projects, legislative research, publications and coordinating, managing and facilitating learning opportunities through in-person and virtual convenings for policymakers and their staff, health agencies and federal agencies.
