Implements and maintains medical records system which adheres to prompt filing and retrieval of information.Constructs and opens new records using standard format in a timely fashion.Responds to internal request for information per policy and procedure. Reviews records on a consistent basis for orderliness and compliance with established format.Provides necessary support to the Utilization Review Team.Retrieves and prepares files when requested by external parties.Responsible for managing interface with off-site storage of closed medical records, including requests for closed records and all necessary logging and tracking.Follows policy and procedure for stopping the destruction of medical records as appropriate and necessary.Collaborates with Site Director and Legal Department in response to legal request for records.Awareness of the most current/approved forms and has thorough knowledge of the clinical record keeping manual and related policies and procedures regarding clinical record keeping.
