The first time my VP joked about my being “fanatical”, I was actually quite taken aback. Fanatical? Me? That was absolutely not a word I would have thought would come to mind when considering my characteristics and abilities. But as I started responding with all the facts about how this was absolutely NOT the case, I found that what I was arguing against, in reality, was actually quite true. Although I wouldn’t describe myself as being quite as extreme as that particular word might indicate, there is no question that be it my work, my co-workers, my clients, my family, my German shepherd, my love of sci-fi or even my delight with all things Scottish, the passion, excitement, dedication and enthusiasm I feel about such things literally radiates through to all those around me. Growing with a company, being a key leader throughout its growth, developing new Revenue Cycle service lines, modifying those lines to include different facility types, implementing and managing projects, leading and mentoring staff and supervisors, finding ways to improve quality and production, and most importantly, having happy clients because we are exceeding goals and expectations – these are things that absolutely have brought out, and continue to bring out, the “fanatical” in me - which, after careful consideration and additional thought, is a word I am actually quite proud to be considered!
