I am a Health & Welfare Consultant and Actuary for the Mercer Health and Benefits Consulting practice in Houston, Texas. I've focused on health and welfare benefits for large groups, but also have experience working with all sized clients including self-funded and fully-insured products.I focus on benefits strategy for my clients, but I have a wide variety of experience with client project and vendor management, analysis of claims, rate calculations, benchmarking and budgets, and health care reform analysis. I have also been involved in requests for proposals, contract reviews, integrating benefit program strategies, summary plan description reviews/creation, and carrier implementations. I am the North American Health lead for Mercer's Energy Industry. For over 10 years, I've worked on many Mercer energy surveys and I consult with my clients about emerging trends and ways to be competitive in the market.I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematical Science with a concentration in actuarial science and with a minor in Economics from Texas A&M University. Whoop! I am an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
