I use state-of-the-art computational techniques to model materials at the electronic level, with the purpose to understand, engineer and predict their magnetic and electric properties. I supervise Master and Bachelor student projects and theses and TA university courses.

I investigated unconventional magnetism in multiferroic hexagonal YMnO3 using a first-principles computational approach.

As coach of the university running team, I lead weekly training sessions, co-designed the training program and organised weekend trail running workshops.

I prepared and taught the exercise sessions for first year Bachelor students in General Physics I.

Russian Arctic

I undertook a project on modelling micro-plastic pollution and their life cycle in the Russian Arctic. I co-designed and organised the project, which culminated in a 23 day long expedition and contributed to the global mapping of micro-plastics.

I studied stochastic approaches to solving master equations of open quantum systems. I coded the Quantum Jumps and Homodyne Detection methods to the Bose-Hubbard model of a driven-dissipative two level system (with and subsequently without the Gutzwiller approximation).

I prepared and taught the Statistical Physics I exercise sessions for 3rd year Physics Bachelor students.

I joined a young research group formed by fellow physics students and co-supervised by EPFL and IBM scientists, to create an entangled quantum state on the Rüschlikon IBM quantum computervia Qiskit. My role was to design and code automated error correction algorithms.
