Current Technical Fellow / Technical Lead / Data Scientist at AVNIK Defense Solutions, Inc. My work consists of supporting/leading multiple projects across several disparate contracts. Projects include: signal processing and analysis for fault predictions/detections; modeling, simulation, and analysis on various aviation, radar, and missile systems; autocorrelation engine, AI/ML, and dashboard development for cross-functional group data analysis; managing architecture and CI/CD of a cloud-hosted, distributed microservice, fullstack application for military systems analysis. While highly technical, much of my work includes developing briefs and presenting to customers/stakeholders, acquiring new customers and contracts, and managing project and development teams.Some of my past experience includes:Former lead software analyst/developer for a missile defense performance analysis team at AMS. Responsible for configuring and running Monte Carlo simulations, scraping and structuring data, automating analysis efforts, creating and presenting analysis briefs, and providing tasking and reviews for AMS performance analysis development team. Analysis tooling is primarily Python/Cython. Simulation code is primarily Java and C++. Monte Carlos are executed on a few different Linux clusters. Comfortable with Linux and bash scripting.Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics, Master of Science in Engineering Physics, both from Appalachian State University. Three years of professional research experience including nine (and counting) coauthor publications in solid state physics. Two years of tutoring, teaching, and grading experience for several subjects including computational physics and analytical physics. Seven years of programming experience in many languages including but not limited to Python, C, C++, MATLAB, and Java. Some experience in mathematical software languages as well. SQL and big data experience, as well as data acquisition and data cleaning. Excellent with machine learning techniques using the Python language. Hands-on experience with analog and digital electronics. Knowledge of calibrating, adjusting, automating, and setting up various lab machines and data acquisition devices. Experience with collaborating and sharing information in professional settings.
