Lead three undergraduate discussion or lab sections per week, each with up to 25 students covering a variety of subjects including energy, ecology, physics, and excel. Ecology course included teaching undergraduates the study of principles of ecology, their implications for analyzing environmental problems and focusing on understanding the processes controlling the dynamics of populations,communities and ecosystems. Specific examples emphasize the application of these concepts to the management of natural resources. Energy course including teaching undergraduates how to use energy efficiently in accordance with the laws of thermodynamics and in harmony with the environment. Topics included fossil fuel technology, nuclear energy technology, renewable energy, heat engines and heat pumps. Physics course included running lab experiments to demonstrate linear and rotational mechanics, wave motion, electromagnetism, and lights and optics. Responsible for carefully grading weekly homework assignments, and exams. Hosts office hours to provide additional support to students. As the Head Teaching Assistant for Energy and the Environment class I mentored new Teaching Assistants.

As UCSB's CSERL Student Ambassador I was a skilled curator of a new digital gateway, working with campus faculty to populate the Resource Library with climate and sustainability-related course materials. Together, with CSERL Student Ambassadors from other campuses, we increased the capacity of educators across the UC system to integrate accurate, up-to-date climate and sustainability resources into their teaching. I helped plan workshops for UCSB faculty to share how they integrated sustainability into their courses.

Santa Barbara, California

I collaborated with four other graduate students and developed economic input-output models to predict the response and impacts of EV rebates and low interest solar loans offered by community choice energy (CCE) agencies. We analyzed how agency revenues may change under these programs and calculated the changes in greenhouse gases and criteria pollutants. I focused on the environmental impacts analysis of the programs. We then created free online tools that CCE agencies can use to optimize these programs for their communities. Finally, we developed a best practices guide to assist the CCE agencies in executing their programs to achieve best results. We presented our findings in April 2018 in Santa Barbara, CA. In addition I was responsible for managing and updating our project website.

Amherst, Ma

As one of UNH's Sustainability Fellows I created the Town of Amherst's first greenhouse gas inventory in over 15 years. I tracked each of the town’s major carbon sources including stationary energy usage, transportation, waste, and agriculture using the Global Protocol for Community-Scale (GCP) GHG Emission Inventories and Local Government and Operations Protocol (LGOP) as guides. I coordinated with multiple town departments, utilities, and university representatives to collect the required data.The inventory will help Amherst's target its major emissions sources to meet their emission goals. Insights include showing the proportion of community wide emissions attributable to each university within the town and each municipal department. Finally I created a user guide, methodology document, and excel template to streamline future reports.
