I am a recent graduate of Oakland University with a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Studies and Minor in Communications. This degree allowed me to focus on various disciplines including Education, Communication, and Sociology. In this program, coursework included; Multicultural Communication, Racial and Ethnic Relations, Sociological and Communications Theory. Prior to transferring to Oakland, I was a student in the Music Education program at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. During this time, I completed preliminary courses in Education as well Vocal Performance. Throughout my time in University, I worked as a Nanny as well as part-time in the service industry. Before attending University, I volunteered with a Non-Profit organization called The Young Americans. With this program, I spent a total of 7 semesters traveling internationally leading immersive performing arts workshops with teams of peers. My primary responsibilities in these workshops were teaching choral music, solo voice coaching, and leading creative arts and dance classes to students of all ages. During my time with this organization, I had the opportunity to teach in places such as Northern Japan, Germany, The United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, and all over the U.S. This experience influenced my passion for education and my dedication to relationship building and supporting students. My path thus far has been unique and extremely transformative. My experiences and education have broadened my perspectives and strengthened my interpersonal and critical thinking skills. To me, a career as an educator is an opportunity to effect positive change in both communities and individuals. I am looking forward to continuing to learn and grow alongside students.
