I became Dorm Master of Block 6 and was tasked with maintaining the pastoral and academic well being of 40 young men in the Diploma Program. In my first year I served in a number of roles both inside and outside of the classroom. I assistant taught an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Higher Level English course, I helped the Student Government coordinate trainings, excursions and fundraisers, and was a House Master for one of the Academy's four houses. I also trained trained as a University Counselor. In my second year, I took over as Head of University Counseling and increased scholarship funding from $500,000 to $3.5 million for our students studying in the US, UK, and Canada. I continued to assist in the IB DP English Course, and in the dorms. I also took on the role of supervisor of the President's Award Scheme (Duke of Edinburgh International Award) and led a trip with students on Mt. Kenya.

Worked alongside the Government Department Coordinator to complete research projects, presentations and books for Government Professors. This role demanded strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills. Projects ranged from Russia's Environmental treaties and Ethnolinguistic mapping of Senegal and Ghana, to proofreading articles and manuscripts on American Law.

Brunswick, Maine

I received the Bowdoin College Gibbons Grant to work with Professor Ericka Albaugh on a mapping project using ArcGIS to track the shifting electoral boundaries along linguistic and ethnic lines in Cameroon over the course of Paul Biya's reign. The maps I created were published in Professor Albaugh's book: "State Building and Multilingual Education in Africa".

Williamstown, Massachusetts

I led week-long introductory trips in the western Massachusetts mountains for 5th and 6th grade students. I worked with a co-leader and together we planned, coordinated and carried out three trips. Every other week I acted as Support Staff for other trips in the area. The role required patience, perseverance, strong organizational skills, tact and strong outdoors skills.
