As the Managing Editor of The Offbeat, I ran a small team of 18 to produce an annually published literary journal. My responsibilities included running the biweekly meetings, delegating the submissions to my smaller team of eight using Submittable, reading each submission, recording the final decisions and results on the pieces, and, finally, copyediting the accepted submissions before being sent to publication.

As a consultant at the Michigan State University Writing Center, I work with students and professors of all ages to construct well edited papers and projects that follow the guidelines set out for them. I guide and edit using skills learned from past experiences with writing and editing as well as skills I have learned from my classes at Michigan State University.Along with being a writing consultant helping with editing and writing papers, among other things, I am required to present classes and presentations on the several sections and subsections of the writing center and of the English language, such as creative writing, fiction writing, non fiction writing, and many more.

VIM Magazine is a biannual student run fashion magazine at Michigan State University.As Lifestyle Director, I communicated between the directors of the magazine as well as with my own team in order to produce a nine page spread for my section. I, along with my team, brainstormed ideas for articles as well as translated those ideas into live photo shoots. I led weekly meetings with my team and implemented weekly deadlines in order to ensure my team and I stayed on task within the structure and guidelines provided by the Editors-in-Chief.As well as leading my team, I wrote several articles published both in print and online on the VIM Magazine blog.

As well as being the co-managing editor of the Red Cedar Review, I am also the Lead Prose Reader, Copy Editor, and Type Setter. As the lead prose reader, I managed my own team of 8 people. I would delegate the 56 readings to each member of my team and allot a weekly deadline for my team, including myself, to have the selected amount of readings for that week read and either accepted or rejected for publishing.As a typesetter, I am proficient in InDesign and am responsible for manipulating text to the specific template or guidelines required.

I wrote 39 articles in 2 months published online to the Haute Living website as well as formatted my colleagues’ articles to meet the required guidelines for publication.As part of my writing and editing internship, I communicated with professionals in the journalism field to set up tours and events that would later be featured in my writing and the magazine. As a social media intern I scheduled hourly posts from five am to midnight Monday through Sunday for three Facebook accounts that reached a weekly average of 1,500 people. I also managed the magazine's Twitter account from three pm to nine pm Monday through Sunday.

I was responsible for promoting both Stephanie Amada as an author and her ebook through social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr), where we reached a high of 3,700 people on Facebook. I also tracked trends, including which posts received the most attention and at what time.

As the lead sales associate at Guess I learned to be able to multitask with different clients of numerous backgrounds and cultures, to be organized, both in the stock room as well as on the floor of the store, and to be able to follow instructions from my managers quickly and easily.
