In 2011 while struggling to choose a college major I called my father, he pragmatically told me to “pick a major where you’ll be able to find a job” then sent me a New York Times article written by David Brooks called "It's Not About You" and since that day it has managed to stick with me. In the article Brooks states, "Most successful young people don't look inside and then plan a life. They look outside and find a problem, which summons their life". While reflecting on his words I realized that the problem summoning me was financial wellness. Because finances are multi-faceted, impacting your health, opportunities for life experiences, and quality of relationships, I believe that by developing comprehensive financial plans I can positively impact a family through multiple generations.In 2015, I graduated from Longwood University and immediately went into financial services as an associate advisor. Working with experienced advisors and their teams over the course of a year allowed me to gather the tools needed to begin my own practice. As I continue to improve in my chosen field I am able to engage my clients from a place of empathy while working through complex topics. I believe it is important to meet clients where they are in their financial journey, building a solid base of knowledge that will allow them to make informed decisions moving forward.Today, I am blessed to live in a community I adore with my husband, Phil, and our two Great Danes. As a retired Division 1 athlete I have tried just about every fitness experience available (from running marathons, to Crossfit, to Olympic Lifting, to yoga) and am always up for a challenge! I enjoy spending my down time with friends and family, preferably outside enjoying the sunshine, or on the couch with a good book.
