    As Head of e-Commerce for the UK my main role was to ensure the growth of the site from a revenue and retailer perspective, recruiting the top sales talent for our organization and facilitating a smooth integration into the Microsoft business. This role was a fantastic challenge for me as not only was it my first experience of management but it was also a huge period of change for the business. I also reported into our head office in Munich so there was a huge amount of autonomy and independence required which I loved. Specifically some of my key responsibilities:• Led the UK e-Commerce team, comprising of Sales and Account Management, from a strategic point of view in the highly competitive UK price comparison market. Despite the maturity of the UK market I successfully grew the merchant database by over 32% in 2 years, peaking at 475 active clients in 2011 • Prospected and recruited large revenue generating advertisers onto the price comparison platform and ensured smooth integration with high level account management. • Helped facilitate and drive the Ciao integration with Microsoft, including working closely with the Bing and MSN teams to drive high collaboration through editorial content and premium placements.• Achieved specific and stringent monthly retailer recruitment and revenue targets as well as attending monthly European sales meetings in the Munich head office. Under my leadership the UK site surpassed Microsoft revenue targets in both years post acquisition.• Set cost per click and commercial rates for UK and pan euro deals and presented the price comparison solution at online trade events. (Internet World, e-Commerce Expo) I completed a number of trade speeches and round table events as part of this requirement.Overall the experience of working for Microsoft was fantastic and I feel I really grew as an individual both personally and professionally. This role also confirmed my affinity for managing and coaching people!
