I'm Tim Dobson, a passionate developer and lifelong learner based in Greater Manchester, England. With a background in Operations and Sysadmin, I've spent the past few years helping technology companies tackle their biggest challenges – attracting and retaining customers.Currently, I serve as the chair of The Climbing Clan and The Caving Crew, two BMC and BCA affiliated clubs that I founded. My work with these clubs has driven me to develop several software solutions to streamline our operations, including neoClan, a second-generation membership check-in system. In my professional journey, I've taken on various roles from Junior JavaScript Developer to Technical Sales Consultant. This diverse experience has equipped me with a unique blend of technical and customer-focused skills. I'm particularly adept at integrating systems, automating processes, and ensuring customer success.I'm currently diving deep into React with the Mantine framework and Next.js, alongside exploring react-query and advanced git workflows. My goal is to continuously expand my technical repertoire while seeking opportunities for freelance work and development projects.Outside of tech, I am an avid rock climber and caving enthusiast. These passions not only keep me grounded (or "undergrounded!) but also inspire my approach to problem-solving and innovation.

Technical Sales ConsultantMigrating Dragons Apr 2018 - Mar 2022RemoteLots of companies are great at technology. They have visionary founders, great tech teams and have built brilliant products. The leadership can easily articulate a technology roadmap for the next 3 years but when asked about how they're going to get the next 10, 20, 30 customers, they usually resorted to one sentence answers: "adwords", "word of mouth has worked up to now", "we're going to this tradeshow".When we see great technical companies struggling in the market against companies with inferior products and services, we're seeing technical companies who didn't think ahead with their sales.I can support you building and executing a sales strategy to take you to the next level.
