2016 - present Head of Access and Participation (APP) within the Equality and Access team. Institutional lead at University of Northampton - widening access, student success lead and oversight of graduate outcomes. The APP is a regulatory condition monitored by the Office for Students annually. It focuses on equality of opportunity, opportunities and outcomes for under represented groups of students. Key achievements:● Managing the University’s Key EDI commitment to students through the institutional APP and leading on all related L&D activities; successfully transforming and embedding tailored processes and delivering on all set goals.● Engaging with a large and diverse management team to understand their needs (training needs analysis) and delivering multiple development and L&D programmes. This includes creating & delivering training and information sessions as required and providing 121 support and coaching & mentoring as required. ● Driving engagement with `Academic and Professional` services executive teams to understand their current targeted provision and developing a highly success strategy to meet developmental needs. This led to a specific action plan programme, that delivered all aspects of the executive goals.● Delivering engaging, practical, and impactful L&D workshops, focused on APP knowledge development and advocacy to embed new ways of working.● Subject matter expert for the APP across the institution; advising at all levels and helping the organisation deliver & embed transformational change. The focus has been on empowering individuals to own this development by providing innovative, blended development opportunities and managing multiple L&D activities.● Leading development and ownership of key intranet and internet webpages to guide and inform colleagues with their knowledge and engagement of the equality, diversity, and inclusion agenda. ● Partnering with key web engineers to ensure an excellent user experience; working closely with partner higher education institutions to ensure students achieve their potential by monitoring provision, development of processes, financial support, and evaluation of outcomes.● Reporting to various committees on progress against institutional KPIs, including The University Leadership Team and Board of Governors.● Managing & delivering oversight of multiple funded projects including: The Heritage Accelerator Project through funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (Sept 22) and the Government’s locally distributed Multiplier Fund (Feb 23) – funding total of 1.2 million.
