Ted Hall's Blues Jam is Austin's longest running Blues Jam for over 23rd years!The jam not only showcases many of Austin's finest musicians literally from every musical circle, amateurs are encouraged to join as well! Sponsored by the Austin Guitar School, many students have performed for their very first time on our stage! The jam, born January 1993 was originally held at Gino's Italian Grill every Sunday night & first began as a vehicle for students from the Austin Guitar School to perform in front of people and play with a live band. The jam has become an Austin tradition for many of Austin's greatest musicians & has created a space for aspiring up and coming musicians to perform.. It’s now held at the Austin Guitar School on Sunday nights 8pm-11pm.. The format has been updated a little in the spirit of reconnecting the local Blue’s community with each other thru playing/jamming together in a completely creative atmosphere.. Musicians & fans can bring their own Alcohol, this is a 21 & up show. Minor’s must be accompanied by a parent.. Each Sunday the Blue’s Jam will feature a co-host on Guitar & vocals for the first 20 minutes, starting @ 8pm.. The guest artist can then talk a little about their gear & influences. There is a small cover charge which pays the co-host & the house band... The house band is Joe Zito on Bass, Rich Chilleri on Drums & Ted Hall on backing guitar... Everyone that Loves the Blues is welcome to come jam!!! Guitarists can bring a small amp & or pedal if they want.. We have a great PA, a few good Guitar amps, 300 watt Bass amp & Drums all setup...We typically go Live on Facebook! Ted Hall and the Pleasure Cats first emerged in the Austin music scene in the summer of 1993 & have performed weekly shows in Austin and throughout Texas, Oklahoma & Arkansas for the past 20 years.Ted & The Pleasure Cats play the Blues from 1920’s thru today & also mix in some cool Classic Rock tunes from the 60’s & 70’s.Their 1st CD "No Dogs Allowed" was self released in Nov. 1997 on Ted’s own label "Party Pet Records" which featured 9 original contemporary blues songs & 6 traditional blues covers.Their 2nd CD "Thief In The Night" was released in May of 2000 on the local Austin label "Lark Records". This CD featured 14 original songs & showcases Ted & the Cats playing a variety of musical styles from blues & rock to jazz & funk.Ted has toured Italy 3 times with an Italian version of the Pleasure Cats in 1997, 1999 & 2003 performing in a total of 33 different venues. Also in 1999 Ted performed in London, England @ Blues West 14, The Railway Pub & The Station Tavern.Ted and The Cats continue to please crowds with their mix of classic blues, rock and the Cats original material.June 2, 2010 Ted & the Cats recorded a live CD titled Live @ Road House Rags. Austin Guitar School has been Austin's first pick for music lessons since 1987...We have recently relocated four blocks south of our previous location, we are now at 8405 Burnet Road right next to Atomic Tattoo.we have three very large rooms for proper social distancing to hold private lessons and group classes
