SENIOR ARCHITECT (October 2014 - July 2015)ARCHITECT (October 2011 - October 2014)INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR (May 2010 - October 2011)I worked with a large team developing a point of sale system for a regional telecommunications company. We build a web user interface using Google's GWT toolkit. My role was a software architect. I helped design the basic workflow system for guiding a sales rep through the new account creation flow. I also implemented a server push (Comet) system for real-time communications with the sales rep's terminal and the credit approval office.

The objective for TileStack was to create a web based development platform based on Apple’s HyperCard paradigm, which would enable non-professional programmers to create Web 2.0 Widgets and SmartPhones Gadget Apps from within their browser.Multiple sub-projects were developed to support the TileStack product. Key sub-projects included; a JavaCC based cross-compiler to translate the Speak language (i.e. HyperTalk variant) to JavaScript for web execution; a web based IDE in JavaScript to enable visual component layout and property configuration; a HyperCard stack to TileStack file converter; the TileStack web portal itself, built on a Java server stack that included Freemarker, a MySQL based object database, an in-house Rails-like Java framework, and a number of third party libraries; an iPhone execution harness & publishing platform; an Android execution harness & publishing platform; and a customized YUI Compressor that obfuscated and compacted our JS libraries for speed and IP protection.Acronym soup of technologies used: SVN, Maven2, Redmine, Amazon EC2 / S3 / FPS, Tomcat 6, Apache 2, CentOS Linux, Eclipse, JUnit, Crosscheck, JavaCC, YUI JavaScript Compressor, Freemarker, Lucene, Java Mail & Sound, JFugue, Apache Commons File Upload & HTTPClient & IO, JSON, Code Mirror, Objective C & iPhone SDK, Android SDK, Photoshop, Facebook & Twitter API's.

Assisted in the creation of a new web-based development platform and the conversion of client projects over to use the new platform. This included testing and maintaining a tool that converted source code from one programming language to another. I also assisted in the building of a new product based on the new platform.

I sold cell phone activations to consumers in the Oklahoma City metro area for All Wireless, an authorized dealer for AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint.My job was half sales and half customer service. The important thing with cell phone contracts is to help the customer find the best match for them. At that time the different carriers had plans with different coverage options and pricing. My goal was to have happy customers throughout the duration of their phone contracts.
