I've taken each year of my career to specialize in any aspect of my profession. I started with haircuts and shaping hair. I then became interested in perfecting the art of hair removal (body waxing). I found myself to have frustrating results in color over time, so that possessed me to further my education in color and chemistry. I've always loved being apart of that special day in women's lives, whether it be a formal event or even marriage, so I dedicated a lot of time in learning new ways to upstyle hair, keep up with latest looks and trends, learning new braids and even as simple as clever ways to hide pins. Further more, I've invested in makeup and then HD makeup. HD makeup opened a new world to me and I've been involved with Chance Fashion shows in 2016, doing hair and makeup for runway models in a extremely fast paced environment. Up to 20 faces with only 7-10 minutes to apply, and up to 8 heads of hair in an evening following a theme and changing it up as designers need it done. I then furthered my makeup experience with a local movie being made. murder mystery, Cinebar, directed by Fred Doughty. I have experience in basic facials and focus mainly on relaxation and healing energy work i.e. incorporating Reiki during this practice. I am a Reiki Master and find it to be very spiritually fulfilling for both myself and the client. finally, I've specialized in Beards and barbering. Shaping mens beards, precision haircuts and beard product knowledge to keep and maintain healthy facial hair.April 2021 I began my Instructor training program at Evergreen Beauty College in Renton. I had the most amazing experience. I'm integrating my knowledge to be able to share it with aspiring cosmetologist. This enables me into putting together a curriculum, and understand all the adult learning styles so that I may be able to help assist better with learning retention. I also found a lot of self reflection in this course and never felt more purpose than after teaching my very own class. This has also given me great perspective with parenting my two sons, and engaging in hard conversations in all relationships and interactions. deepening my compassion for people in general and engaging more authentically with anyone I encounter but specifically in my own community is a new found priority.
