My experience covers 40 yrs of working a specific range of skills which includes IT technology, Mental health services and management. I earned a Masters’ degree in Instructional Technology from Strayer University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Elizabeth City State University. Throughout my career, I have held titles such as IT Specialist, Coder, System Administrators, System Engineer, Computer Lab Coordinator, Applications Program Sr., IT Coordinator, Adolescent Mental Health Case Manager, Men’s Group Coordinator, Manager of Time Financing Services. I have gained skills and experiences- including facilities, personnel, and budget management- that make me well qualified for the position. I am currently employed as a Systems Engineer as a contractor for Variq in service of the United States Coast Guard station in Elizabeth City, NC. I am responsible for maintaining all the internal systems in the Information Systems Division (ISD) of the Aviation Logistics Center. I design and configure a kiosk system which is unique in that it provides a secure remote access system to the USCG ALMIS system. That software is now being used USCG wide. I work on many client projects and am able to provide each with a system to their liking. I am a team player, a collaborative worker and I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. I am goal-oriented and I finish all my work within the deadlines. I have the ability to multi-task, as several of the above mentioned positions I have held concurrently. I am always open to taking on additional responsibilities with the job as I usually do other tasks, such as training the new engineers.
