Terry began at the credit union as an accounting specialist and progressed within the department and was a direct report to me as the lead accountant when I left. Terry consistently demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills and worked well with other staff to ensure the accounting processes flow well through the various departments within the credit union. Terry had primary responsibility for payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets and the reconciliation of many of the more complicated general ledger accounts, including the daily reconciliation of the Federal Reserve bank account, which included all the transactions made by the members through ATM, Debit Card, ACH and checks as well as all the transactions done within the credit union. Terry played a pivotal role in the credit union’s conversion to a new core processor and balanced all member loan and deposit accounts to the new core without input from me. She also worked through many of the new process flows on the new core to ensure the general ledger was in balance. Terry has always been very responsible and rarely missed a day of work. Her positive attitude and outstanding interpersonal skills were used on a daily basis to resolve issues within payroll, accounts payable and the general ledger. She was well-liked by others and had a genuine ability to bring people together to work on problems. I am confident that Terry would be an invaluable addition to any organization and will make meaningful contributions in whatever role she is hired for.
