The Senior Communications Advisor supports the Director of Strategic Communications and Outreach at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and the Defense Health Agency. He will function like a Chief of Staff and oversee both strategic and tactical communications planning, track project implementation and completion, assist in management of special events, and integrate communications functions across the Military Health System. This position reports directly to the President and CFO, Akoya.

Responsible for organizing, directing and coordinating all communications plans within the MHS Strategic Communications Plans and Operations team. Reportes directly to the Chief of Plans. Specific projects include, managing and coordinating the monthly military medical themes and developing plans that incorporate all aspects of the Military Health System. Provides guidance and strategic counsel to all communications planners. Maintains the plans and operations leadership charts, project matrixs and reports. Serves as the back-up for existing Communication accounts and primary for emerging or additional accounts added to the Defense Health Agency.

• Managed process for the worldwide assignment and personnel management of approximately 280 US Army senior leaders in three distinct management fields.• Balanced the operational, organizational and personal professional development requirements • Designated senior personnel for sensitive Army leadership positions• Coordinated the educational development of senior leaders in preparation of positions of increased responsibility
