Profile bio

About Dave Austin

I love being a technologist in the Nonprofit space; and I love to evangelize for and provide solutions to ultimately help make the world a better place. I have tremendous respect for the nonprofit community, and those who work in it. Professionals choose to work in this space because they believe in what they do, and believe in the causes they support. I can't think of anyone who works in nonprofits to get rich. And because they work just as hard, if not harder; are as smart as, if not smarter than their peers in the for-profit space, but work on behalf of a cause; I have great respect for, and really enjoy working with nonprofit folks. I've worked in this space since 2008, and have had the good fortune to work with extremely flexible platforms. Nonprofits often have to go about things in unique and creative ways. So, it's important not to force them into a box. This is also why I love being a Sales Engineer (or Solutions Engineer, or Solutions Architect - the fundamentals are the same). I get to put my creative hat on daily, and help organizations strategize and realize solutions they might not have known existed. I love my job, and I love to help paint the picture of what could be, both for the organizations with whom I work, and their constituents alike.

With growth comes diverse learning, and diverse experience. I was able to work with some of the most influential nonprofit organizations in the world, and we helped those organizations change the world.Job duties included in-depth technical business analysis, presentations and technical demonstrations to C-level and technical audiences, technical architecture diagramming, RFP responses and technical solution documentation.
