Iβve always hated being idle, so when the opportunity for an on-the-job internship at Bombay Hemp Company (BOHECO) came along, I seized it eagerly. Leveraging my research and knowledge of medical cannabis and hemp from my internship with SPI, I dived into the role with enthusiasm.Role:During my time at BOHECO, I conducted surveys to gather product feedback, reached out to numerous doctors to increase product adoption, and made cold calls to pharmaceutical companies to drive new business. My first outbound sales efforts were challenging, but after many tries, I celebrated my first few conversions β a milestone that brought a big smile to my face.Key Learnings:Improved Communication: Under the guidance of the National Sales Manager, I refined my cold email writing skills, learning that concise, impactful messages with eye-catching subject lines were crucial in grabbing attention.Sales Cadence Development: I gained expertise in developing and implementing sales cadences, which brought structure and efficiency to my sales processes.Presentation Skills: I transformed my presentation skills, reducing lengthy slides to concise, impactful presentations that effectively conveyed key information and persuaded stakeholders.Territory Management: I learned the importance of territory segmentation, shifting from a broad outreach strategy to focusing on Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities with an emphasis on ICPs.Cold Calling Techniques: Through experimentation, I developed effective cold-calling openers that became game-changers in connecting with potential clients and generating leads.Comprehensive Sales Knowledge: I gained a deep understanding of sales strategy and planning, learning what matters to the C-Suite and how to contribute effectively to company goals.
