Supporting student recruitment and retention by creating and leveraging the three most critical components of modern college communications: marketing support for enrollment, compelling and relevant student storytelling, and implementation of powerful visual communications. Working closely with departments across the institution to develop high-quality, student-centric messaging that changes the narrative of community college success.

Served as the chief communications officer for the largest community college in New England and the largest college in Rhode Island. Oversaw a department of eight marketing and public relations professionals in developing modern, effective messaging that drives enrollment, positively impacted retention, and moved the college forward. Worked closely with enrollment services, academic affairs, workforce development, advancement, and all areas of the college to enhance communications via high-quality collateral, paid media, earned media, and strategic planning.

Working out of the College Communications office at BCC, I managed all marketing projects for areas of the institution related to recruitment and retention of students. Specifically, supervising all college publications projects and website content as well as strategizing and developing College advertising and promotional campaigns. As part of the job, I helped build and sustain brand identity for the College, created the Bristol Bayhawks athletics brand, strategized and managed the award winning "Because Bristol" recruitment and retention campaign, and worked closely with enrollment services to align messaging in an empathetic, strategic, student-friendly voice.

Wrote and produced advertisements for local businesses as well on on-air promotions.

Chased down stories, reported them on the air, got yelled at by Barney Frank.
