I create visual language for books and brands. My creative passion is defining the "look and feel" of a product, product line, or service.Also, general capabilities and experience:• 20+ years of experience with long document design: books, catalogs, brand books, etc.• Pre-press experience as part of an early-career 'apprenticeship' style job has resulted in a strong understanding of production needs and considerations—not the least of which is the importance of leaning on the printer's expertise and involvement in a given project.• As such, a strong understanding of resolution, trapping, bleeds, wrap, spot colors vs. process, die-lines, etc.• Nearly 17 years full-time as a freelancer servicing 65% publishers and 35% corporate clients. The majority of the corporate client work has involved developing an initial brand but then executing the natural collateral and application that outflows from this process.• A long career in servicing book publishers translates to 80% book covers and 20% typesetting work. Typesetting is 100% master-driven and properly structured hierarchical style tagging.• Deep experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.• Some experience with 3D modeling (Box Shot, Adobe Dimensions)• Experience creating barcodes with a working knowledge of different symbologies used for different industries—notably ISBN and UPC.• Moderate experience with photography. I use a Canon 80D with Sigma 50mm and a Macro lens.• Illustration skill—both digital and analog.
