Responsible for both research and development of the new electromechanical cam phaser and specific customer applications. Applied parallel axis gear technology and design techniques.

Worked in the Manufacturing Engineering group at an engine timing components production facility. Solved issues with fabrication and assembly machines in order to keep production running smoothly. Designed a new lean manufacturing assembly cell. Managed documentation for numerous machines and operations. Gained experience interacting with a wide range of people, from operators to production management to other engineers, in order to complete a task.

Saline, Michigan

Worked with the body shell design group at the Toyota Technical Center in Saline, MI. Helped design exterior body parts for new Toyota vehicles. Created technical drawings and 3D models vehicle parts using CATIA. Studied competitor and past Toyota vehicles in order to support design decisions. Learned how to work in a professional design environment, including how to gather technical information and present it to senior engineers in design reviews.

Oneonta, New York

Worked as part of a team designing a new version of a perflurocarbon tracer detection instrument for Brookhaven National Laboratory. Designed and fully documented the structure of the instrument using ProEngineer. Designed a temperature programmable oven and created and tested a protoype. Created and tested control programs for instrument components using LabVIEW. This work was done in collaboration with the Atmospheric Tracer group at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Norwich, New York

Developed and validated physical test methods for new pharmaceutical products and assisted other lab employees in testing. The physical tests developed included shear, peel, and tack adhesion tests for transdermal patches and the corresponding raw materials using a computer controlled TA.XTPlus Texture Analyzer. This position included cGMP training.
