I am currently working at Hastings Direct car insurance as a customer care manager, I have been with business for over 2 years. I started my journey there a call handler dealing with customers car insurance renewals, this helped me understand what customers want when it come to their insurance and also gave me excellent customer service skills. I then applied to the complaints department seeking a new challenge and have been with the complaints team almost one year. I have progressed quickly to a Senior complaint handler in just under 3 months of me starting the role, I have built on skills as well learn new ones these will be listed below. My day to day tasks involve speaking to our customers and investigating their concerns which can lead to difficult conversations however these conversations have helped me negotiate with customers and explain situations simply to them. The other side of my job involves coaching and supporting the staff around me if they have any questions or need help with a complaint, the has helped my team working skills. However, this has also taught me to not overload my workload with others so I am able to prioritise my workload and then help others.
