My role is hugely varied, and requires a great deal of versatility on any given night. Predominantly, I coordinate timings of acts, including sound and light cues, as well as being the liaison between comics and venue managers and production teams. On top of these responsibilities, I also look after ticketing and group bookings during our busiest periods, ensuring the best possible atmosphere at our central London stages.

Coordinating production of an independent new play at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. My role was to be a jack-of-all-trades, incorporating initial venue hire and negotiation, securing suitable rehearsal spaces, and booking travel, accommodation and equipment storage for our troupe of 13. Once at the festival itself, my role morphed into an advertising based role, contacting reviewers, journalist and members of the press, as well as scheduling meetings for our cast and writers with publications we believed would most enjoy our show. This was on top of initiating more non-traditional marketing schemes, such as giveaways and exit flyering adjacent events. Ultimately the show was hugely successful, being awarded Best Ensemble Performance by TheatreWeekly, and being nominated for an OffWestEnd Award for Best New Play, a testament to our creative vision and intelligent marketing techniques.

My role in Britain's largest student theatre company was predominantly around organising fundraising events, venue hire, and outreach to local schools and community groups. Fundraising events included organising champagne receptions for alumni and notable guests at our more high profile shows of the years, as well as working closely with social media teams to document the group's rehearsal process in the build up to a performance. As well as this, the role entailed working with locals schools across the area to invite and encourage young people to take part in musical theatre workshops, as well as managing large-group school bookings to our shows.A particular highlight of my time with DULOG was organising a collaboration between Durham University and the Northern School of Art, as well as York Theatre Royal, to costume a production for Durham's Gala theatre. Using over 70 period appropriate costumes, the show was hugely successful, the standard of costuming being such that particular items were subsequently used in a BBC exhibition on costume design.

Durham
