About Thomas Deaton
Hey there! I'm Thomas, and I've been working in the Marine and Subsea Robotics space as a Mechatronic Systems Engineer since 2017. I've been involved in all stages of the AUV life including initial and detailed electrical design, electrical assembly and integration, and operations in Canada and internationally. I've written BASH and LUA scripts for vehicle mission creation and execution on both hovering and torpedo-based underwater vehicles. I'm proud of my time from 2018 to 2020 as lead test pilot for the SOLUS vehicle, and from 2021 to 2023 as lead test pilot for the IMOTUS -R vehicle at Cellula Robotics Ltd.
