HR needs more engineers!The global pandemic has required businesses rethink where they are investing their money. Why do we pay our employees 20% above market? Why do we spend millions of hours a year on performance management? Why do we pay X organization 100K a year to train our leadership?HR professionals are trained to answer these questions, but are Business and Organization requiring them to? No! Or at least not enough.Here's where the engineers come in. Engineers are trained to solve complex problems. "How can we build a car that drives 1000 miles without gas or stopping to recharge?" Is a complex problem. Equally complex "how do I measure the the bottom line business impact of a leadership training program?" Can an engineer answer this question? Probably not, but an HR professional with the mind of an engineer might.I have spent my entire life avoiding being an Engineer. My dad is an engineer my friends dad's are engineers. Two of my brothers and a sister have pursued engineering and some point. I think like an engineer.
