See www.bristol2015.co.uk for details.As part of Bristol’s year as European Green Capital 215, leaders from cities and business around the world met in Bristol for the Summit Series; two days of discussion about how government and business must work together to ensure a sustainable and profitable future for all.Chaired by broadcast journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy the event included a conference, break-out sessions and exhibition. Speakers included:- Richard Gillies, Group Sustainability Director, Kingfisher PLC;- Tim O’Toole, CEO, FirstGroup PLC;- George Ferguson CBE, Mayor of Bristol; and- Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBEFocal Point were responsible for full event design and delivery. Tasks included venue selection, contractor management, layout and design, registration, graphics and signage and on-the-day management.Highlights of the show (from our point at least) included transforming half of the venue from three seminar rooms to a drinks reception layout, all while a plenary session was taking place in the main auditorium. Thanks to some novel thinking, a very hands-on team and lots of inflatable walls it all went smoothly!As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability the entire build was designed to create minimum waste and made the most of the great local suppliers we have in the region.
