My team sit within the Operations Department. My responsibilities also includes the Accountable Manager and Force Lead for Drones (a fast growing and developing technology in policing). During my time leading this innovation we have expanded from 4 part time pilots to an established full time capability or 1 Sgt and 6 officers, with a total of 27 pilots including 4 special constables, building resilience and succession into our capability. In doing so we save valuable time in deployment, resources of specialist units, use of helicopter and expense when dealing with large scale searches but also increasing the capability of specialist teams during complex deployments. I am Force Lead for Taser provision and policy. I have brought consistency to policy across the force, standardising process to ensure officer safety and management of misuse, in doing so highlighting learning and enhance the effectiveness of our training. Developed the first Taser Strategic Threat and Risk Assesment for the force receiving external praise. Further to this I lead the programme to deliver improved electronic storage of devices to improve safety and efficiency for officers and increased accountability. Finally, I also have leadership and management of Forensic Collision Investigation and the challenge and privilege of developing this capability to ISO accreditation. A team often underestimated for their skill, compassion and dedication when dealing with and understanding the causes of fatal road collisions.

Chief Of Staff To Covid Response Gold Commander

Throughout the first 2 years of the CoVid pandemic, I supported our Gold commander in strategic and tactical management of our organisational response to CoVid, alongside our Local Resilience Forum agency partners. I assumed Silver command in the initially phases of the response from February to May 2020 handed on the Chief Superintendent and reassumed the position in June 2021. I coordinated the response across all force departments an tactical groups, developing consistent working practices including but not limited to PPE, communication strategies and enforcement response to legislation. I lead a small team to deliver antibody testing to 6000 people with 5 days notice across a 3 week delivery period, receiving high praise. coordination across 5 local authorities to provide fairness in testing and CoVid case management across the force area. Op Hydrogen was our force enforcement response, I successfully bid for and tactically applied and managed the Home Office funding, ensuring we delivered a proportionate response to rapidly changing CoVid legislation, whilst maintaining the trust and confidence of our communities, this was at the heart my strategy. I received a CMI certificate in recognition of "Outstanding and invaluable contribution" as a key worker and leader during the CoVid pandemic.

I have line managerial responsibility for the local Case Conference Officers conducting Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC) in the area."Working together to safeguard children" is statuary guidance to support the Children's Act governing the powers available to police and partner agencies in managing safeguarding cases for vulnerable children in strategy and practice. Furthermore, the the Care Act governs similar provision for the engagement, care and interventions for vulnerable adults. I am familiar with all aspects of this legislation given the nature of the DS role in the SCU.
