As the Division Manager, I supervise a staff of seven and oversee our listing and recovery actions pursuant to Sections 4 and 10 of the Endangered Species Act within Washington. I oversee development of proposed rules to list species and designate critical habitat in Washington. My Division also works with others to develop recovery plans that identify actions necessary for listed species recovery and to fund and implement recovery actions.

As the Deputy Field Supervisor I oversaw approximately 90 employees across three offices in Washington. I was responsible for the direct oversight of three of the office’s five divisions as well as two remote sub-offices, one each in Wenatchee and Spokane, Washington. I provided direct supervision of five Division Managers, guiding them in personnel management issues, budgetary understanding and management, priority setting, use of best available science, and development of external relationships. I conducted performance reviews for direct reports serving in multiple office functions and programs. I oversee the office budget and make decisions regarding financial resources allocation.I served as the acting Field Supervisor from July, 2014, through January, 2015, overseeing all aspects of the office.

I lead the office’s Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration which contains 13 biologists and focuses primarily on habitat restoration to benefit fish and wildlife resources. I managed eight different Service natural resource conservation programs across two major program areas (Ecological Services and Fisheries) of the agency. As such I effectively integrated these different programs, each with their own specific policies and procedures, to ensure that their implementation resulted in attainment of Service conservation goals.

Professional Ski Instructors of America Certified Level 3 ski instructor. Participated as part of the training staff for the Summit Learning Center at Snoqualmie Pass Ski Area. Trained new ski instructors, provided on-snow training for returning instructors, and provided in-season instructor continuing education. Instructed all levels of skiers. I have stopped instructing to allow enough time for law school.
