Thomas Merlo & Partner AG brings good design, originality and contemporary style to selected stores in Switzerland and the EU. The company manufactures in Switzerland and imports from all over the world extraordinary items to enhance the aesthetic and creative quality of life at home, in the office and while travelling. Articles offered are hallmarked by their functional design, ingenious flexibility and cosmopolitan charm.

Together with my Chinese partner, Wang & Merlo Ltd was among the first Hong Kong based companies promoting design-products directly from the place of manufacture. In co-operation with Swiss designers Jost & Miriam Hürzeler and graphic designers Vischer Vettiger, we developed the breakfast collection. Spiral eggcup "eggboy" became our first icon of design generating sales of over 1 million cups in less than 3 years. Because of the long distance to our main markets, I started Thomas Merlo & Partner AG in Switzerland and continued creating and marketing legendary design icons such as Phaidon Design Classic "The Paper Collector", The Caraffe Dryer, Portavino, Two Bag and more....

I was responsible for all production related purchasing in the Far East, mainly Thailand, Hongkong, China, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines and Indonesia. The company owned the young fashion label "Tiffany Jeans", known in the 80ties in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
