The New York State Emerging Infections Program (EIP), sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is part of a national effort to provide population-based communicable disease data for surveillance of disease patterns, evaluation of vaccine programs, and to identify populations at risk. The data is used to evaluate public health interventions and inform policy. Independent surveillance using Electronic Medical Records and healthcare work interviews for CDC vaccine effectiveness study.

Responsible for collecting and analyzing health data from multiple sources to develop comprehensive reports and statistical summaries for public dissemination and administrative leadership. Experience with NY state’s Health Commerce System, including Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System (CDESS), Electronic Clinic Laboratory Report System (ECLRS) and Clinical Data Management System (CDMS).

Capstone Thesis Title: Prevalence and Trends of Type II Diabetes (T2D) in United States (US) Adults, 2003-2014: A National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) Study. Group Project using the 2003-2014 NHANES data to analyze multiple covariates with a Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis. Collaborated on poster presentation, graphical displays, and thesis writing.

Greater New York City Area

I worked with faculty on various projects including: literature reviews, data entry, survey design, citations and more. Also was responsible for managing bimonthly adjunct timesheets, and monitoring office supplies, mail and phone lines.

160 hour project working with a large data set from the New York State Immunization Information System database. Utilized Excel and SPSS software to clean, organize and analyze HPV vaccination among adolescents in Westchester County. Created GIS maps of the county to show the HPV vaccination distribution between municipalities.
