Using advanced IHC, IFA, and ISH (radioactive and fluorescent) staining to locate virus in GALT. GALT has to deal with inguinal lymph nodes, terminal ileum, rectum, peyer's patches, as well as lamina propria.Our lab is also conducting a human efficacy trail for a vaginally applied microbicide to prevent transmission on HIV in vaginal intercourse. We are testing this gel to make sure if is safe in women over a 14 week period. -
