Mr. Simpson provides legal counsel on a variety of matters, including business and commercial law, financial services law, real estate law, corporate governance and franchise law. Prior to joining Shepherd & Simpson, LLC, Mr. Simpson was chief legal officer for Edible Arrangements in Atlanta, GA. Before then, Mr. Simpson worked as chief legal officer for two large community banks and as a financial services attorney at national firms in Kansas City, MO, Greenville, SC and Atlanta, GA. In 2006, Mr. Simpson earned his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama, where he graduated second in his class, was named to the Order of Coif and received the Dean Leigh Harrison and Hugo Black Scholar Awards for Academic Achievement. He was the managing editor of the Alabama Law Review. Following law school, Mr. Simpson served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ed Carnes on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. In 2003, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University.
