•Develop, implement and lead strategy initiatives to support the safety and loss prevention objectives of all company business units •Support all company-wide safety projects and committees •Develop and coordinate safety communications, safety recognition plans, serious accident investigations, certifications, record keeping and auditing •Interpretation of maintenance and construction regulations •Track and respond to company and industry-wide safety trends •Represent the company with industry groups such as AGA and EEI •Provide company positions on and positively influence proposed litigation Serve as a workplace safety and health resource to all employees of the company •Incident management, including efforts to continually decrease the number of work accidents, injuries and illnesses by monitoring and developing innovative strategies to reduce incident and accidental rates •Establish progressive programs and setting standards and goals which will foster continuous improvement in health, safety and loss control performance •Implement risk based programs designed to anticipate, prevent and mitigate harm to health or safety •Set health, safety and loss control programs to ensure that legislative compliance is maintained •Strive for progressive improvement in health and safety performance, consistent with the company’s commitment to achieving its vision of industry leadership in safety performance •Partnership approach between governmental, industry and the public for the development of equitable, cost-effective and realistic legislation •Begin and maintain improvement trends in health and safety performance as measured by injury frequencies and other performance indicators •Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code, the National Electrical Code and OSHA and ANSI standards and regulations •Integrate safety with the company’s business plans and processes •Maintain drug testing program and the company’s drug free environment
