Career history:My last post at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) was Head of Internal Audit. Prior to it, I was the Head of Finance and Administration.After graduation from university in Australia, I started my audit career with an international firm in Hong Kong. Later I was trained and worked in Sydney as technology auditor for 4 years. During that period, I achieved the Chartered Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor qualifications together with a master degree in information systems. I was transferred back to Hong Kong to establish a technology audit team for the firm. After 7 years of services, I joined the HKMA in a similar role for 7 years. Then I was posted to head up the Finance and Administration Division for 13 years followed by another posting to head the Internal Audit Division for 5 years. In line with the corporate policy then, I retired in April 2008. After COVID, I wish to re-establish an office work routine with the vision to groom a team having abilities to integrate technology elements into audits and to apply skills flexibly to various operations using a dynamic risk-based approach.Key roles when worked at the HKMA:*use an integrated approach, establish and develop a team of professionals to systematically address and manage organisation-wide risks and internal audit issues; and*lead the Finance and Administration Division, formulate appropriate policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting; consistent and effective application of the annual budget as well as smooth office operations.Goals after this COVID break:*to partner with a sizeable organisation which is keen on good governance and internal control, to help establish and groom a professional team and assist top management in achieving corporate objectives; and*to develop and maintain an integrated audit strategy which can be applied flexibly across a full spectrum of internal control risks of the organisation.*I treasure my professional knowledge and experience. I am keen to make these available to organisations for practical use and adoption.Others:*available immediately; and*can flexibly fulfil business travel needs.
