As a judicial extern in Columbia's S.D.N.Y. Externship program, I spent two days each week during the fall semester of 2020 performing legal research, analysis and writing under the supervision of Judge Lehrburger and his clerks. I gained competency in these tasks - performing legal research, analysis and writing with greater speed, accuracy and precision. I also was fortunate enough to sit in on dozens of hearings and gain insight into the functioning of the judiciary. I am grateful for having had the opportunity to participate in the externship program, and know that it provided critical experience, even as I still have much left to learn.

As a legal intern, I performed various legal research tasks, from sifting through and organizing medical records to finding cases for the appellate team. While the summer was made more difficult because the internship was remote, I nevertheless gained a better understanding of family law practice.

As a tour guide, I gave an hour long tour of Dartmouth to prospective students and their families through anecdote and facts. I answer questions which families and students have and try to present Dartmouth as I have known it while also allowing for the fact that my experience at the college is far from universal.
