About Thomas Harvey

Thomas Harvey is a Group Brand Director | Brand Building - Creative Strategy – Campaign Development at Amazon. Colleagues describe them as "Thomas is one of those rare leaders who is equally smart as he is empathetic. He hired me for his team on Old Spice in 2019 and taught me how to be a strategic leader, how to work with different personality types, and how to have fun while under stress. He helped me grow into the leader I am today and watching him navigate through challenges while also being a pillar for agency culture was inspiring. He’s one of the best there is. " and "Thomas is without question one of the best people in the marketing business ... or any business, for that matter. His ability to see through the noise and get to the heart of the matter is a direct reflection of just that: his huge heart. He's honest, diligent, insightful and a pure pleasure to be around. I enjoyed every single day I worked with Thomas."

I was successively promoted over the years to lead a team of 10, and up to 50 cross-functionally, with media and production budget oversight of $100M+. Some of the prominent accounts I oversaw included Old Spice, P&G Olympics, HP OMEN, Trolli, and Ancestry. In this role, I partnered with clients’ senior leaders and CMOs on brand strategy, creativity, and campaign development to drive strong business results, serving as the primary liaison between the company and agency in a client-facing capacity. Select highlights by brand:Old Spice - Led a cross-functional team of 30+ in pioneering brand strategy and creative development for Old Spice’s global presence across television, digital and social as well as brand and media partnerships. We earned the Gold Effie for Sustained Success in 2023 with Old Spice's "Men Have Skin Too" campaign. Our work helped propel Old Spice to achieve $1B in annual sales for the first time (2021). HP OMEN - Pitched and won a $2B+ Hewlett-Packard’s PC gaming brand (HP Omen) in 2019. Subsequently spearheaded a global campaign and unveiled a refreshed brand identity in partnership with W+K Shanghai.Procter & Gamble - Spearheaded brand strategy and creative evolution for P&G’s global campaigns during the Tokyo and Beijing Olympics, notably for the renowned "P&G Thank You Mom" initiative. Partnered with P&G's CMO to bring this campaign to fruition.Ancestry - Pitched and won the Ancestry brand revitalization project in 2023. Led the development of a new brand positioning and creative platform to modernize the brand and showcase the new product experience.

I led cross-functional teams of 40+, driving brand strategy and creative development across television, digital, social, and OOH for Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Chrysler and Dodge. Select highlights by brand:Chrysler & Dodge - My team earned the Grand Effie for Advertising Effectiveness, four Cannes Gold Lions, and the 2011 Emmy Award for Best Commercial with the launch of Chrysler's "Imported from Detroit" campaign during Super Bowl 2011. After the launch, Chrysler sales more than tripled within one month and the Chrysler Group sales increased 44% from 2010.Coca-Cola & Diet Coke - For the Super Bowl 2016 integrated campaign, we realized $10M in additional sales at Wal-Mart by establishing a unique partnership with Postmates and leveraging a Snapchat collaboration with BMW MINI that garnered millions of impressions on Coca-Cola's social channels, underscoring its influence beyond a Super Bowl commercial. Other wins were helping Diet Coke surpass Pepsi as the #2 soft drink in the US, boosting Coke’s market share with teens (integrated “Secret Formula” campaign), and centralizing the in-house content creation across all @Coca-Cola social channels (Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram) with a unified content calendar and dashboard to execute platform-specific strategies.
