Tiffany Stevens practices real estate and land use law, regularly representing commercial real estate clients in various stages of their projects. She assists clients in connection with various types of commercial real estate lending, including permanent and interim financing, co-lending arrangements, and mezzanine finance, the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate and the negotiation of commercial leases. She has extensive experience in the representation of investment banks and institutional lenders in connection with the origination and restructuring of credit facilities secured by most types of commercial property. In the planning stages of a project, Ms. Stevens regularly appears before Planning and Zoning Commissions and other governmental agencies, representing clients who seek to develop their property. She has worked with municipal staff to amend local zoning regulations to accommodate the needs of clients seeking to build large-scale and multi-use developments. Ms. Stevens frequently has utilized principles of the common interest community law to facilitate a client's development needs.While at McCarter & English, Ms. Stevens has devoted a significant amount of time to pro bono services on behalf of individuals exonerated after lengthy periods of wrongful imprisonment. She actively negotiated a $5 million settlement from the State of Connecticut on behalf of the first individual exonerated in Connecticut through the use of new DNA evidence.
