I have more than 30 years accumulated experience in archaeology and the heritage industry in England and southern Africa. I have worked both as an archaeological contractor (commercial field archaeology) and a curator (County Council, Museums and Historic Properties), including over eight years in Project Management. I have also taught archaeology and Heritage Management at both secondary and undergraduate levels.I am an experienced historical researcher; I have produced a number of heritage assessments, worked on family histories, and produced a series of short local history vignettes for a client at Heathrow Airport.Along the way I have gained experience in the running of historic properties and buildings as public places, architectural history, landscape archaeology and regional studies.Specialties: Field archaeology: complex stratigraphies, working with standing structures. I produce readable, accurate and succinct reports. I can identify a range of artefacts, including flint and other stone tools & a wide range of pottery types.Collections Management: classification and cataloguing, database input and management (including use of MODES XML), archaeological collections, social history, historic buildings.
