I have over a decade and a half's experience working on complex pensions matters and finding solutions to legal, regulatory and policy challenges. In a nutshell, my role is to stay on top of the latest developments in pensions law and practice and ensure we provide timely and workable solutions for our clients.My recent experience includes:- advising clients on the implications of the Virgin Media judgments- providing strategic advice to schemes and providers on implementing changes and member comms to reflect the abolition of the lifetime allowance, and- providing strategic advice to clients on implementing the Consumer Duty.My proudest achievement to date is advising the Living Wage Foundation on the development and implementation of the Living Pension employer accreditation, which is designed to help ensure workers have adequate savings for retirement. This included drafting the legal agreements and standards that underpin this.I work closely with a range of organisations to help improve pensions law and regulation, including the Department for Work & Pensions, the Pension and Lifetime Savings Association, the Association of British Insurers, Pensions Administration Standards Association, the Association of Pension Lawyers and the Society of Pension Professionals. My areas of particular interest and expertise include the Pensions Regulator's powers, scheme funding and de-risking solutions, pension transfers, GMP equalisation, auto-enrolment, DC investment and decumulation, member engagement and dealing with small pots.I currently Chair the PLSA's Legal Advisory Group and sit on the SPP's legislation committee. I also sit on the Living Pension Methodology and Policy sub-committee.
