Drafting and design of food service facilities from restaurants to stadiums, including cook line and dish washing ventilation design.

Order entry, unit design, and sheet metal layout for commercial kitchen make-up air units, using the latest AutoCAD software. Worked closely with manufacturing and administration on a new line of make up air units constructed of aluminum.

Created commercial kitchen plans for the bid-and-spec department using AutoCAD software. Drawing sets consisted of equipment layouts, as well as dimensioned electrical, plumbing, and ventilation plans. Project sizes ranged from elementary school kitchens to NFL football stadiums. Provided technical support for office and field staff, general contractors, architects, food service consultants, and food service operators. Responsible for receiving and logging in all shop drawings that come from vendors, also when they come back from the general contractor. Some design work, field work, and cost estimating.

Started with kitchen ventilation design as my primary responsibility, then progressed into kitchen design, detail drawings, and utility drawings for commercial foodservice facilities. All drawings were done with Drawbase software. Acquired experience writing specifications and doing cost estimates. Field experience included equipment inventory and evaluation, measuring available space for renovations, and final punch lists at the completion of the foodservice facility. Attained broad knowledge of foodservice sanitation codes.

Began as a board draftsman, promoted to CAD operator in one year, and to Senior Designer six months after that. Promoted to Project Engineer in April 1989. Responsible for new submittal drawings, as well as static calculations required to select blowers and motors for commercial kitchen ventilation systems. Also responsible for configuration and maintenance of CAD systems, supervision of other draftsmen, and releasing jobs to the Florida manufacturing facility. Researched and set up three new CAD stations. Trained three draftsmen on VersaCAD, and also trained an electrician to draw wiring diagrams.Worked as

Developed, coordinated, and maintained intense production schedules to meet inspection deadlines. Worked with VA/FHA and local building officials to identify and correct infractions, and to obtain variance approvals as necessary to assure code compliance. Attended weekly seminars on codes, the various construction disciplines, and local construction techniques. Superintended construction of a custom home for Pulte's Vice President of Marketing.
